Mount Lawson Scramble July 14, 2022

Lawson from Road

Lawson with Kelly. All off trail as seldom done. phone died. 1250m gain. Wandered on elk trails and bushwack deadfall to stream crossing on deadfall. some trail to second drainage and cairns. Up narrow drainage on river rock to rockband and then steeply up right to steep trail in trees. Scramble 2 more small rockband on 3 rd class. Treeline, up grassy steps to base of snow gully. 600m to go. Steep and hard snow so would need crampons and confident movement. Rock on either side of Gulley is steep steps and very loose. Went left to lower angled steps with loose rock and followed cairns back and forth up steep face and ridge. Could bypass all snow patches. Slow carefull downclimb on loose skiddy crap. experienced scramblers only.
